Google Mapping for Joomla and Community BuilderPosted by: Nicholas Myrna Tagged in: web design , users lists , SOBI2 , maps , mapping , Google , directories , community builder

Community Builder is at the heart of many Joomla sites. Inside CB, sites often have information about birthdays, addresses, kids’ ages, hobbies, locations, and all kinds of other interesting information. For sites that are built around social or professional networking, or even sites for churches and other social groups, being able to find members with something in common in a geographic area can be a great thing.

Login Redirect for Community Builder Released!Posted by: Nicholas Myrna Tagged in: targeted marketing , profile , login redirect , login landing page , joomla log in redirect , Joomla , community builder
|
You have a Website that specializes in local news. You have pages dedicated to various cities, replete with news, advertising, and all kinds of goodies for people who live in that area. You want visitors to your site to make it to their pages and get the best information for them.
How do you route them there in a Joomla environment? Easy - you have them register for your site using Community Builder, pick their city from a dropdown box, and then login! Assuming, of course, that you have the Login Redirect for Community Builder Component from CorFun. This new component allows Webmasters to map specific entries in a CB profile field to different URLs. When a user logs in, he or she goes directly to the page you feel is most relevant based on their profile!

Community Builder User Lists and Targeted MarketingPosted by: Nicholas Myrna Tagged in: users lists , targeted marketing , Joomla , enewsletter , DT Register , community builder
|
Lots of Joomla-powered Websites find themselves building good-sized member lists. One Christian ministry we work with has over 8,000 registered users scattered around the country. FreeBeerBuddy.com, which lists beer and drink specials all over the United States, has double that number. You run a Joomla site. You have members. You need to make money off your membership base. You need to reach them and sell them stuff, or promote your advertisers to them so they pay you more money. How can you do that? That is where three components - Event Mail, Community Builder, and Acajoom come in.
