User Group Login Redirect
User Group Login Redirect Home Page is available for both Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 1.6. Both versions are in the download package. Simply choose the one to install based on your Joomla level. Since the ACL functioning between Joomla versions is different, User Group Login Redirect Home Page works differently as well. Refer to the proper tab below for your documentation.
The User Group Login Redirect Home Page Component for Joomla 1.5 is very simple to configure and has the following features:
The User GroupLogin Redirect Home Page Component installs into Joomla 1.5 the same as any other component. Simply download the zip file, and install using the Joomla installer in the administrator backend.
After installation, perform the following tasks to properly use your User Group Login Redirect Home Page Component from CorFun. See the final section on this page if you are using JUGA for user groups.
1) Pick the target URL for each of your user classes. You will need to enter all of them as fully-qualified URLs into the component. That means entering all of them with the http:// prefix and the full URL. Don't use relative URLs. One of the URLs can be a default for User Groups which do not have a specified URL for login.
2) Pick the User Groups which will have custom URL redirects. You will need to enter the name of each desired User Group into the component. You do not have to specify a URL for each User Group. Any User Group without a specified URL will see the default URL specified first in the list in the component.
3) Fill in the list of User Groups and URLs as shown below:

For each User Group desired (up to 10 different groups) enter the name of the User Group and the fully qualified URL to display after login. The URL can be either a SEF or non-SEF URL. It can be a URL to a page locally, to an outside URL, or to a URL which invokes a Joomla Component. The first URL also functions as a default URL. Any user signing in to the system belonging to a User Group without a specified URL will be directed to the default URL.
Login modules for Joomla offer two different types of login URL functionality. For shopping sites that intend to use the Virtuemart Login Module, please skip to the bottom of this page.
Direct URL Entry:
The first type allows you to specify a URL. An example of this type is the Community Builder (CB) login module as shown below:

You can enter the URL to the Login Redirect Component as a relative URL in most login modules. Enter the following URL:
index.php?option=com_usergrouploginredirecthomepage
If your login module requires a fully qualified URL, then simply enter it as http://www.mysite.com/index.php?option=com_usergrouploginredirecthomepage
After setting the URL to the Login Redirect component in your login module, you are done with setup. Any user logging in through the module will see the correct Web page based on either the default URL or the URL assigned to that user's User Group.
Page Specification
The default Joomla login module (and some custom modules) allow you to specify a page to use for login display. In order to choose the Login Redirect Component as a page, it is first necessary to publish a link to that component on a menu.
NOTE: The menu link should be on a menu that is not visible. (An easy way to accomplish this is to have no Menu Module published which is set to display the menu.) Do not set the link to 'Registered' or some other User Group access. That can restrict the functioning of the Login Redirect Component. Set the menu link to 'Public' access. Example is shown below:

Note: Some SEF URL components on some servers cause a problem with this kind of relative URL structure. If you have a redirect issue, change from using a component link to using a Link URL on your menu and put the fully qualified URL to the redirect component.
In the Login Module, select the page link to the Login Redirect Menu item as shown below:

There must be a menu link to the Login Redirect Component for this type of login module!
After you have selected the Login Redirect menu link, you are done with setup. Any user logging in through the module will see the correct Web page based on either the default URL or the URL assigned to that user's User Group.
With Juga a user can be associated with multiple groups. The key to setting up a login redirect is the group number. To find the group number go to Juga under Components in the backend and select Groups.
The Group number is listed on the left hand side followed by the group name. Choose the group numbers you want to redirect at login and the appropriate URL.
Next go to the component LoginRedirect in the backend. You will need to enter the word Juga (in mixed case) as the first security group. Enter the default URL to use whenever someone logs in that does not have a specific landing page into the first URL position (This can be the home page URL). Next enter the group numbers and the associated URLs in the following slots.
The base Virtuemart Login Module cannot be used with this component. The download package includes a version of the Virtuemart Login Module which has been modified to work with login redirection. Please uninstall the base Virtuemart Login Module, and replace it with the module which is included in the download package. The new login module includes an option to direct to the login redirection component. Just select that option on login in the module, and set up the login redirect component as shown above.
The User Group Login Redirect Home Page Component for Joomla 1.6 is very simple to configure and has the following features:
The User GroupLogin Redirect Home Page Component installs into Joomla 1.6 the same as any other component. Simply download the package, unzip it to reveal the install files, then install using the Joomla installer in the administrator backend.
After installation, perform the following tasks to properly use your User Group Login Redirect Home Page Component from CorFun.
1) Pick the default target URL for each of your user classes. You will need to enter all of them as fully-qualified URLs into the component. That means entering all of them with the http:// prefix and the full URL. Don't use relative URLs. The default URL set up is shown below:
2) Pick the User Groups which will have custom URL redirects. The defined user groups for your site are listed in the select boxes. You do not have to specify a URL for each User Group. Any User Group without a specified URL will see the default URL specified first in the list in the component. See below:
NOTE: If a User Group has child Groups, do NOT specify a login redirect for the parent group. For example, suppose you have a User Group named "Shopper" and two groups underneath it called "Retail" and "Wholesale." Do not specify a login redirect URL for "Shopper." Instead, specify URLs for the child groups as desired, or let them use the default login redirect.
