There are a lot of Google Mapping module integrations for Joomla. Most, however, really only focus on putting a single location on a Google Map to show your location or some other address. You can put the module on your Joomla site, and potential customers can find their way to your location. Question is - what if you need multiple locations mapped at once? Or, what if you would like your Joomla site to feature a map with the Google Search Bar integrated in? That is where JMaps from CorFun comes in - the easiest and best Google Mapping integration for Joomla.
The K2 Contributor Login Redirect component from CorFun lets you direct contributors to specific pages when they login to your K2-powered group blog site. Define a default URL for any user signing in belonging to a K2 User Group that does not have a specific URL set up in the component. Then define URLs for all desired K2 User Groups so that you can pick what URL each type of contributor sees when logging in via K2. If you don't assign a User Group to a specific URL, then members of that group will go to the Default URL when logging in. K2 Contributor Login Redirect has been available for Joomla 1.5 for quite some time. We are now pleased to announce its port to the Joomla 1.7 platform and to the latest development release of K2!

SOBI2 has a powerful templating system, which you can combine with CSS 3.0 tricks to do some fantastic things. Recently, we had a project that combined our JMaps Google mapping module with SOBI2 to create a directory of local churches. The client wanted to have the vCard images of the Churches in the directory to have drop shadows around them to provide texture.
Prior to CSS 3.0, the way to do this would be to add a background image and offset it. There is a problem with that method when working with a directory. The vCard images have a maximum length and width, and the images are resized if they are too big when uploaded. They are almost always too big when dealing with directory entries, because non-technical people just upload whatever massive image they have lying around. Very few people will take the time to appropriately size an image. So when images are uploaded by regular folks, you are going to end up with differently sized images due to proportional reduction. That makes putting an offset background image behind the small vCard image difficult. Luckily in CSS 3.0, there is a way around this using a drop shadow that is generated strictly by CSS and not using a physical image at all.
