Virtuemart Shipping Estimator

Virtuemart Shipping Estimator is a component for Joomla 1.5 that lets shoppers in your online store estimate the shipping costs of their basket prior to checkout. Installs easily as any other Joomla component and has the following features:

• Automatically displays a message at the top of the cart for checking shipping charges as shown below:

• No custom coding or manual changes required.
• Works with Virtuemart 1.1.7 and higher.
• Works with the following Virtuemart Shipping Modules:
  
  • Standard Shipping (Demo Standard Shipping by clicking here.) This demo uses the AJAX add-to-cart functionality and the Virtuemart Mini-Cart. Great way to configure your site to keep users shopping, and show them an option check shipping costs whenever they are ready. Link on the shopping cart view is also present.
  • United States Postal Service (USPS) (Demo USPS by clicking here) This demo uses the regular add-to-cart functionality. Add the product to your cart to see the normal link at the top of the shopping cart.
• Works for all national markets! You can even specify the default country.
• Comes with a version of Virtuemart Minicart Module that can show the user the option to check shipping pricing on the cart. This is a great feature if you are using the AJAX add-to-cart feature. As soon as an item is added to the cart, the minicart module will show the link for checking shipping. See below for an example:

If the customer has enough items in the shopping cart for free shipping, the link to estimate shipping costs is automatically changed to the specified "congratulations" message you specify in the component configuration.

• Configuration includes custom verbiage for all messages shown to the shopper. See screen print below that illustrates the easy set up of displayed verbiage:

• Can optionally inform the shopper of the minimum order size for free shipping as shown below:

• Can optionally show a message if minimum order size for free shipping is met and suppresses the link to check shipping charges as shown below:

This message can also show in the included Virtuemart Minicart module.

The Estimator currently supports Standard Shipping and the United States Postal Service.
