Note: DynaTabs is compatible with most Joomla templates. Please be careful with templates such as Mynxx from Rockettheme that has a bundled Virtuemart Theme. These templates often rely on functions defined within the Virtuemart Theme to power the template. These Javascript functions must be added to DynaTabs for them to keep working!

Easily embed either custom information or standard Virtuemart fields (short description, size, etc.) into tabs.

Tabs are defined using a simple and easy to use command structure that is entered directly in your Product Description in Virtuemart. Simply put this code { TAB=Name of Tab} at the beginning of each tab, followed by the information you would like to display. The Add-to-Cart, Product Reviews, and Related Products can be shown either inside or outside the tabs! 

To embed standard Virtuemart information, just use commands like this which are all part of the documentation:

• [ VMFIELD =width ] which displays the width of the product
• [ VMFIELD = height ] which displays the height of the product

Put any standard Virtuemart field in any tab or series of tabs.

You do not have to use the same Tab structure for each product. Only build the tabs for a given product that make sense for it. For example, you have both T-Shirts and books in the same online store. The information you need for books might be Overview, Author Bio, Reviews, and Ordering Information. The information for T-Shirts might be Description, Sizes, and Ordering Information. You structure the tabs anyway you like when you create a product, so you always get a structure that perfectly matches the products you carry.

DynaTabs comes with three different image display options - Zoom Image, Multi Zoom and Image Swap.

Zoom Image -

The Zoom Image option lets a shopper mouse over the primary image and see a magnified popup of the area under the mouse. This option is fantastic for products with intricate details such as clothing, accessories, pictures, and more!

The Zoom option comes with up to four thumbnails which are loaded to the left of the primary image. The user can mouse over the thumbnails to see the full size image. The full size version of the thumbnail stays loaded as long as the shopper's mouse is hovering over the thumbnail.

Need more Thumbnails? A few changes to the CSS file can add more thumbnail images to your display!

Multi Zoom Image -

 Define up to four thumbnails to display along with full images which are swapped into the main image area when a user clicks a thumbnail. You can define a zoom image for each of the thumbnails to show when it is active in the main image area as shown below. This is completely optional. Thumbnails can be used that do not have zoom images associated with them.

Swap Image -

The Swap Image feature has a main image that "swaps" with a thumbnail when it is clicked. The full size version of the thumbnail stays loaded until the shopper clicks a different thumbnail, or exits the page. This feature is excellent for products that benefit from showing multiple pictures, but without the detail offered by the zoom feature.

In the example below, the second thumbnail has been clicked. The full size version of that image has been loaded in the primary image area, and will remain there until another thumbnail is clicked.

DynaTabs has custom styling options for the Browse Pages, Add to Cart area, and Related Products

Custom Category Page

• Choose the Thumbnail Image Link on the Category Page. Choose the browse_1 template to have the product thumbnail on a category view page link to a popup of the image. Choose the browse_2 template to have the product image link to the product details page.
• Custom Browse Page for Products within a Category. The default theme from Virtuemart is limited in its styling for displaying products within their category. The FlyTabs theme has a sleek, colorful display that includes a much more visible thumbnail.

Custom Add to Shopping Cart Area

• Custom Add to Cart area. The add to shopping cart area is in an attractive, colored box which really gets a shopper’s attention. The price is large, and very visible with a ‘Add to Shopping Cart’ graphic.
• Custom Additional Options area. Additional options such as size or color are loaded in pleasing dropdown boxes right above the Quantity field.
• Add-to-cart Area can show in a tab, or can default to show on the right side of the tabs as shown below:

Custom Related Products Display

• Related products have been customized to display in a visually appealing manner below the primary product display or within a Tab as you prefer.

DynaTabs comes loaded with a "light" theme which is Cupertino in the list below, and a "dark" theme which is Dark Hive in the list below. You can select one or the other by category for use. For many sites, these two work out well. However, they don't always, which is why we made DynaTabs so easy to customize.

DynaTabs uses jQuery UI Themeroller themes. These screen captures show the color options which are available from Themeroller. You simply download a new theme and load it into the site using FTP or some other file manager. You can also "roll your own" using jQuery's Themeroller to get a completely custom look for your shop.

DynaTabs is based around the user putting tab commands into the Product Description area. This is really easy, and super flexible, but some projects, and some clients, can stand just a little more structure.
