Hi,
Does event mail remove entries from the Acajoom mailing list when they are no longer in the source list and an update is done?
Thanks,
Sid.

No, we never remove entries. We only add them.

Hi Jerry,
thanks for the prompt reply ... this is a problem for us because we wanted to use Event Mail with our subscription membership to communicate with our members. We need to be able to keep our Acajoom lists synhcronized with our current memberships, which expire at the end of each year.
It seems it would be relatively easy to add a "flush" option to the UI of Event Mail that could remove all rows in the selected Acajoom list before adding the source entries. Could you point to where we may be able to look so that we could perhaps add that feature ourselves?
Many thanks.

It sounds like the best way for you to go would be to add another "task" to eventMail.php. I would clone the functions showEventMailCB and updateEventMailCB and have them do the purge based on your criteria.

This would give you a separate menu item you could click when you want to purge the mailing list entries.

You could just modify those functions if it's a better fit.

Either way, the changes would go in eventmail.php in the components folder.

Hope this helps.

Jerry

Hi again Jerry, I am finally getting some time to look into this and I have a couple of questions.

If we have multiple lists and our subscribers may be members of more than one list it appears that simply flushing the jos_acajoom_subscribers table is not going to work. I think that it will be necessary to figure out which subscribers will be deleted and remove ONLY those from the subscription table and from the queue, THEN any new subscribers can be added to the subscription table and into the queue for the appropriate list.

Does that sound like what I need to do?

Many thanks,
Sid.
