CorFun released the highly successful FlyTabs theme over a year ago. FlyTabs presented the standard Virtuemart product information fields in elegant tabs. The theme also combined the incredible Zoom image feature and other enhancements. The theme was highly successful, but CorFun recently decided to take tabs in Virtuemart to a whole new level. The standard Virtuemart product fields just don't do justice to all products - so why not have a Virtuemart Theme that supports totally customizable information and the standard Virtuemart fields? Welcome to DynaTabs - the most flexible tabbed Virtuemart Theme available!

The genesis of DynaTabs was a bookstore CorFun did as a development project. You see, a bookstore needs tabs like "Author Bio," "Endorsements," and "Publication Information." Virtuemart doesn't have fields like that for data entry. You could put the information in the Details, but that doesn't really do the product justice. After all, information like that you really want to call attention to, not bury it at the bottom of the product details.

We considered trying to make it easy to add new product information fields in Virtuemart to make the FlyTabs paradigm work. But then we had a better idea. Instead of trying to add fields to the Virtuemart Database, why not simply create a flexible tab system so that you could put any information you desire into tabs?

That seemed like a good idea, so that is exactly what we did. DynTabs lets you use the Product Description area in the Virtuemart system to create a series of custom tabs. Simply enter the command {TAB=Description of My Virtuemart Tab} and then put in whatever custom information you would like show! Want to show standard Virtuemart information? Then enter a command and the fieldname like this [VMFIELD=Name of Field as Documented by CorFun] to see the standard Virtuemart field data in a tab. You can also optionally put the Add-to-Cart function and the Product Reviews in tabs or leave them in their regular spots.

Create unlimited tabs with any combination of custom information and standard Virtuemart information! The tabs automatically create rows in case you have too many to fit on one row. The tabbing is done in JQuery which prevents conflicts. You can even load videos into tabs to really round out the display of your products. Best of all, your products can all look differently! No need to add tabs to products that don't apply.

Custom Tabs Automatically Formatting on a Second Line 

But the tabs are just the beginning for this Virtuemart Theme. You get two different color schemes. You can, out-of-the-box, use DynTabs for either light or dark product details pages. You also get two different image functions. You can choose the Zoom image functionality in which the shopper can move the mouse along the primary product image and see a close up of that area in a popup. Or you can choose the Swap Image functionality. The shopper can click a thumbnail (up to four) and see the full-size version of the thumbnail appear in the main image area. 

In the DynTabs package you get all of this functionality for use on an unlimited number of sites.
