K2 Contributor Login RedirectPosted by: Nicholas Myrna |

CorFun, Inc. has been making extensive use of the K2 Joomla component in our client projects for all kinds of things from catalogs to blogs to community sites. One of K2's greatest strengths is the ability to assign users to customizable User Groups. This is a great capability, but did have one limitation. When users log in, it is often desired to route them to specific pages based on their User Groups.
There are a lot of reasons why this enhances a site. A User Group for political contributors to a group blog can go immediately to the politics page when logging in. A community site with different interest groups might want to send each group to a page based on primary interest. Especially given the continuing evolution of K2 as a catalog and eCommerce extension, the ability to control what specific groups of users see when logging in can be a powerful addition to any Website.
