Virtuemart is a fantastic shopping cart system for Joomla, the leading Content Management System in the world. While Virtuemart has many great features, one thing that it has lacked is the ability to automatically generate a notification file of new orders that can be used for fulfillment. This is one of the features that CorFun's VM Orderlist component adds.
VM Orderlist can be used to manually, or automatically based on a schedule, extract a CSV file of recent orders. The CSV file contains all of the information needed from each order to track them, account for them, and fulfill them. Many store developers purchasing VM Orderlist do so specifically to generate a file that can be used for order fulfillment.
One such customer is www.kkmulticopter.com. Niall from KK Multicopter was kind of enough to share with us how VM Orderlist is being used at this excellent site:
I now use a third party fulfillment house because I cannot keep up with the orders in- house any more.
Shoppers purchase a product in Virtuemart and use either Moneybookers or Paypal to checkout. Upon succesful completion of the transaction a confirmed status is set in Virtuemart and an SMS sent to the Shopper if they have entered their mobile number. The order is then put into the VM Orderlist CSV file that is e-mailed to the fulfillment house. The list is sent every day, except weekends, at 3 pm on command from a cron job. The fulfillment house then picks, packs and dispatches the products.
The VM Orderlist component helps streamline our business process by ensuring all orders are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner. This frees up a good deal of admin time.
Does your Virtuemart Shop need an easy way to send orders to a fulfillment house? Or to an employee that does packing and shipping? How about an accounting resource who needs to book revenue? For a lot of needs, a CSV file generated by VM Orderlist can be the answer. To find out more about VM Orderlist, click here to visit the product page.
