On my design, the thumbnails are portrait-oriented, lined below the large image (as opposed to the default, landscape-oriented, right side).

I have been poking around the theme trying to get them to work. But it doesn't. Somehow it breaks the image zoomer.

I just want to know, if what I am trying to do is is possible in FlyTabs. Would appreciate some guidance.

There should be no problem with what you are trying to do. The layout is table-less and, therefore, css driven.

Make sure that none of the changes you have made affect the DIVs VMflyProductImageBox or VMflyProductImage1.

Also, make sure that any css changes are directed at the specific element (id or class) that your are targeting. Blanket IMG tag modifications can break the scripts as well.
