I have purchased the FlyTabs virtuemart addon for my site, I love all the features it provides but I also need a feature from another flypage I purchased. It is an inventory addon that allows us to keep better track of shirt sizes and colors on the back end of virtuemart. It also allows the customer to select the size and color and by selecting the color the customer is automatically redirected to the correct products page.

My question here is how do I go about combining both flypages together to include the inventory addon into FlyTabs???

Would attaching the files for the other addon help in combining the 2 together???

Interesting product. Before looking at how to do an integration, perhaps we should talk about what you are looking to do.

The color switch changes the primary product image. Is that what you are looking to do? Do you want to integrate that with the product zoom? How about additional images? Do those additional images need to swap out also, so that if you change to red you get a back, side, front of red?

We could do a better job of helping if you gave us some more information.

Thank you for the quick reply.

Interestingly enough selecting the color does not actually change the product image, it changes the product id. In the back end of virtuemart I have a separate product id for each shirt design in each color i.e. design1-red, design1-black, design1-blue etc. Each color has it's own unique id with separate inventory quantities of each size for each color.

That begin said the integration wouldn't need to actually need to change the zoom or the additional images of the FlyTab images, i would just need to integrate the addon into the FlyTab flypage.

By selecting a different color the result would be redirecting the customer to the correct colors product page, in the back end I would configure the correct images for that color of shirt exactly as I would normally.

For example (hopefully this will explain a little more clearly) I have 5 images for each shirt, each color. 1 close up of the shirt and 4 environmental shots on a person wearing the shirt.

On some shirt designs I may have up to 5 different colors per shirt, therefore 5 separate product ids.

The way I see it each design in each color has its own main pic, fully zoomable via the FlyTabs feature, plus the 4 other environmental shots showing the apparel in live action. The customer then can then click the color selection drop down box and choose a different color of the same design and be redirected to the corresponding colors product id page, where the shirts images are already setup with the correct color main pic and 4 additional "environmental" shots.

With this setup there really shouldn't be too much complicated changes to the flypages. I'm no expert in customizing flypages, but from what I gather i would assume that it would be just adding the correct code from the Inventory control flypage into the FlyTabs add on.

For the default Virtuemart theme, was there any code that needed to be added? Isn't the trigger just a product attribute, which is standard, or did you need to add in some code to the product details php script?

It is more than just a standard attribute setting in the product page. There is some custom code to enable the redirecting of the page when the customer picks a different color. There is also a custom attribute page on the backed in virtuemart which allows for inventory count for the different sizes of each product.
