You are looking for either one of these files (depending on if you are using full images or thumbs:
modules/mod_vm_j_scroller/js/skins/default/skinThumb.css

or

modules/mod_vm_j_scroller/js/skins/default/skinFull.css

All of the styling is done in these two files. Whenever we create a plugin for Joomla, we try to use as much regular CSS as possible. I would take a copy of these files, then start to modify them as needed.
