Hello, first off I wish to say that you have a GREAT product. It really is easy to install and even easier to use. Truly an indispensable tool!

Now I do have one question, I wish to add an addition "Coupon Type". Currently Virtuemart has "Gift Coupon" and "Permanent Coupon". What I want to do is add an additional "Permanent Coupon" but with the text "Additional Charge". Is this possible? I dont see how it would be too difficult. It would behave EXACTLY like the Permanent Coupon, with the exception it would say something else.

Thank you for using the product. Adding another coupon type will require changes to multiple scripts and will take about 6 hours--changes would be needed for 1.5 and 1.6.

To help us evaluate this request, can you please expand a little on how the functionality will be used and why it is needed. From a business perspective what will be the purpose?

Thank again,

Jasper

Well the reason is that I need to add an additional fee to be added on certain medical equipment (a $3 Fee) but not ALL equipment. The fee also needs to be described in the shopping cart per law, something that a coupon does (It has an explanation of where the discount is coming from ) and can be Non-Taxable (Like a Coupon). I didnt realize it was a lot of work. Perhaps you would know of an easier method of doing this?

Understood, but we don't see very wide application for this. It is essentially a product-specific fee that has separate disclosure. Obviously doable as a custom-code job, but not something we necessarily see as a big seller from a development perspective. You might look at doing a product attribute for those products. The attributes show up separately on the cart and can have any wording you want. Other than custom coding, that is the best solution I can think of.
