Hi there.
I have installed the jview plugin and have tried to upload images in both the frontend user sobi form and the backend administrator form and it simply refuses to start to upload the images.
It shows the upload bar for each image with the red cancel box on the right hand side but does not upload from there. See attached screenshot.
Are there any server settings I definately need to get this to work?
1) In your Joomla configuration, make sure the FTP layer is off. SOBI2 as a general rule doesn't like it.
2) Check all the permissions from this plugin back to root to make sure that all folders are maximum 755 and that your files are max 644
3) In Joomla, try to upload a picture using the media manager. I'm curious to see if you have an ownership issue. If you are on Virtual Dedicated Server or Dedicated, then you often need your files owned by Apache.
Let me know the results of that.

I have figured it out.
The image upload script does not seem to work in Mozilla Firefox.
I was using version 3.6.15
I have tested it in IE 8, Google Chrome 10 and Safari 5 and it seems to work fine.
Its not your fault though.
I tested the Uploadify Demo on their website in Firefox and it does not seem to work there either.
Just as an update I have noticed that uploadify uses a couple of flash files.
uploadify.swf and expressInstall.swf.
So it may not be a bug for firefox but for the firefox version of flash.
There seems to be some duscussion of similar issues with flash that other people are getting on the uploadify forums.
I have the latest flash plugin for firefox. 10.2.152.32
