TOPIC: Key registered for different site / not compatible

Key registered for different site / not compatible 3 years, 1 month ago #154

I paid someone to install this plugin on my site. It *was* working fine. We did a complete renaming of every file, every line on the site from downthefence.NET to downthefence.COM - now this plugin is broken. Google Maps does work on the site for individual SOBI listings by coordinates. The radius distance search plugin I purchased from Sigsiu still works. However, the mapping piece no longer works.

You can view it by going to:
downthefence.com/index.php?option=com_sobi2&sobi2Task=search&Itemid=205

Do a search within 100 miles of 80026. You get several results, and then the popup errors:

'The Google Maps API key used on this web site was registered for a different web site. You can generate a new key for this web site at code.google.com/apis/maps/.'

Then:

'Sorry, the Google Maps API is not compatible with this browser.' (whether FF or IE7)

Then, in the area where the map used to be:

'Javascript must be enabled in order to use Google Maps.'

When I go to generate a new key for downthefence.com, I'm given the EXACT same key that I had/have plugged into the Google Maps tab settings in SOBI. I tried downthefence.NEt just for kicks - it generates a different key but that does not work either, gives the same errors.

HOW do I fix this? I am not a programmer. I just need it to WORK!

Thanks in advance for your help...
Jenn

The script ShowGoogleMap.php has the API key in the script. Change it to the new api key to make this work.

Hi,

I have been helping Jenn (colorado2rein) with fixing various SOBI2 issues including getting this hack working again.

I noticed the axsearch.class.php file included in the package she has is very old.
* @version $Id: axsearch.class.php 3880 2008-03-23
This build 3880 file is from SOBI2 v2.8.6.

There have been many SOBI2 fixes related to Joomla 1.5 since then.
Using that old file will not have a number of the fixes for SobiSEF, etc. and may cause other problems.

The current version for SOBI2 v2.9.1.0-J15 is:
* @version $Id: axsearch.class.php 4820 2009-01-05
Build 4820.

Do you have available a current package which has a current version of that file pre-hacked?
Could you please send that to Jenn?

Thank you!

KM

Hello KM,

I'll be glad to help if I can, but I need some clarification. You said "I noticed the axsearch.class.php file included in the package she has is very old."

Our package does not include the axsearch.class.php script. The included documentation tells how to modify the script from SOBI2.

So please clarify what it is you need.

Regards,

Jerry

I see.
I assumed the file on her server came from you.
It must have come from the consultant who did the work for her.
Quite odd that they would modify such an old file.

OK. I will merge the changes into the current file.
Hopefully I will do this error-free.
Always easier to merge from a commented and tested original hack so you may want to consider including this in the package in the future.

Thanks for the clarification.

Hey Ken -

We also just install it for you for $20.00 If you have trouble, just pick up the optional install service and we'll have a technician install it. We try to make the documentation as complete as possible, but in case you do have problems we offer the option to just have us do it.
